Message and I was wanting to see if anyone had good data on the different core materials, and flow characteristics. My general knowledge is

1. Metallic cores have a faster light up but do not reduce CO and NOx as well as ceramic.
2. Ceramic cores can over heat and basically become useless.
3. Turbo charged vehicles are more optimal for a metallic core
4. I believe the original cats 400-600 cells per square inch and currently we can get 100 and 200 cells per inch.
5. Leaded fuel still destroy cats? But I am not 100% sure on that on the new cores I would assume so. (no C16 :-( .. )
6. Spun cores seem to have less backpressure and better flow characteristics.

My goal is to reduce my in cabin exhaust smell I get now when I drive my car around a lot, and to not sacrifice to much performance..

Anyone have good data on the different universal cats available now.

My initial thoughts are to get a 200 or 100 cell spun metallic core cat.
